Our client is one of the key players in the Scottish housing market.  They are seeking an experienced and dedicated Contracts Manager to oversee and manage a number of large residential housing projects in Edinburgh & the Lothians.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in housebuilding, excellent project management skills, and the ability to lead teams to deliver high-quality construction projects on time and within budget.

Key Requirements of the Role
- Manage and oversee multiple residential construction projects from inception through to completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring all milestones are met.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
- Monitor project progress and performance, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
- Conduct regular site visits to inspect work, provide guidance, and ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Report on project status, risks, and performance to senior management.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, addressing any concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
- Implement and maintain effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders.

Experience & Qualifications Required
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in the housebuilding sector.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and materials specific to residential projects.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as MRICS are advantageous.
