About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team of Physics teachers in a dynamic department. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Physics education at the school, inspiring students to develop a deep understanding of the subject and a passion for scientific exploration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management:
    • Provide visionary leadership for the Physics department, setting clear direction and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Lead the development and implementation of a stimulating and challenging Physics curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the National Curriculum and incorporates the latest advancements in Physics education.
    • Oversee the recruitment, development, and performance management of the Physics teaching staff.
    • Budget effectively to ensure the department has the necessary resources to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Teaching and Learning:
    • Contribute to the teaching of Physics across the curriculum, potentially including Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11).
    • Foster a love of Physics in students and equip them with the knowledge, skills, and understanding to excel in the subject.
    • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students reach their full potential.

  • A highly qualified and experienced Physics teacher with a proven track record of leadership success.
  • A deep understanding of the National Curriculum for Physics and a passion for innovative teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
