GSL Education are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Head of Physics Department to join our Client school in Slough from September 2024. As the Head of Physics, you will lead the department in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences, inspiring students to explore the wonders of physics and nurturing their scientific curiosity.

Key Responsibilities of Head of Physics:

• Lead the Physics Department with vision, enthusiasm, and strategic direction.
• Develop and implement innovative curriculum plans that align with national standards and cater to diverse learning needs.
• Mentor and support a team of talented physics teachers, fostering a collaborative and positive working environment.
• Monitor and evaluate teaching standards to ensure consistently high levels of academic achievement and progress.
• Oversee the effective use of resources and facilities within the department, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements of Head of Physics:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant academic qualifications in Physics or a related field.
• Proven experience as a successful Physics teacher, ideally with experience in leadership or management roles within a school setting.
• A deep passion for physics education and a commitment to fostering a love of learning among students.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
• Up-to-date knowledge of curriculum developments and educational best practices in physics.
