We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Manager to join an industry leading D&B fit out contractor who services the commercial office industry creating inspiring work spaces across the UK.

They are looking for a Commercial Manager to join their dynamic team at their London office. As an industry-leading Design & Build contractor specialising in commercial office fit out.

The Commercial Manager will play a pivotal role in our organisation, overseeing the preconstruction phase of projects and leading our preconstruction team to deliver high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective solutions to our clients. They want someone conversant from initial project conception through the D&B process.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the preconstruction phase of projects, including the preparation of estimates, budgets, schedules, and value engineering analysis.

- Collaborate with the business development and design teams to review and provide input on project proposals, ensuring that they are aligned with the clients objectives, budget, and timeline.

- Manage the bidding process, including the solicitation of subcontractor and supplier proposals, bid analysis, and subcontractor selection.

- Oversee the development of accurate and competitive cost estimates, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry best practices.

- Conduct thorough site evaluations and assessments to identify potential challenges, opportunities, and risks during the preconstruction phase.

- Foster strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout the preconstruction process.

- Continuously seek opportunities to improve preconstruction processes, methodologies, and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field. Masters degree is a plus.

- Proven track record of successful preconstruction management on commercial office fit out projects, preferably within the London market.

- Someone with experience working in the D&B market, will consider someone not from the fit out market, if they have the relevant experience from early stage D&B.

- Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and systems, with a keen understanding of cost implications and value engineering opportunities.

- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing preconstruction team.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
