Think Accountancy and Finance are working with a business based on the outskirts of Hemel Hempstead who are ooking for a Management Accountant to join their growing team.

The company offers hybrid working with 3 days in an office, and 2 days from home each week.

They are looking for someone who is Part Qualified or close to Qualifying ACCA, CIMA or ACA with experience in a Management Accountant role and also experience of working in an Accountancy Practice. The position will focus on overseeing the finances from start to finish ensuring monthly management accounts are completed on time.

There is the potential to consider someone who has worked as an Assistant Management Accountant and is looking to gain more experience within in this position. However you need to have worked in practice and completed management accounts to be considered.

This is an urgent requirement so ideally you will have a maximum of 1 months notice and be able to interview at short notice.

Role responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts including all journal postings;
  • Cash flow forecasts
  • Debtor management
  • Prepare periodic financial reporting and variance to budget analysis
  • VAT returns
  • Help prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts;
  • Assist in preparation of statutory accounts and annual audit in IFRS, FRS 102 or UK GAAP, including consolidated sets of accounts;
  • Support audit
  • Project work
  • Support continuous improvements to accounting and reporting processes
  • Business Partnering
  • Be a point of contact for the external clients

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • Part Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or nearly qualified
  • ERP experience
  • Financial experience under IFRS, FRS 101 and 102
  • P&L reporting
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Month end reporting
  • Intercompany experience
