Production Operative

Location: Bury, BL8

Hours of work: 4on 4off (2days/2nights/4off) 6am-6pm/6pm-6am

Rate of pay: £11.91/hr

(Overtime: paid at time and a half and double time at weekends)

Company Information:

Our client specialises in the production of textile products for automotive vehicles and are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Production Operative to join their team. Initially this will start as a temporary position with the opportunity of long-term prospects for the right candidate. The purpose of this role is to support textile production operations in a variety of areas across the site as required by the business. As a Production Operative the role requires versatility, an adaptable personality and the ability to adjust to change in a fast-paced environment.

Main duties:

• Working as part of the production team
• Handling textiles by inputting into the machines and taking the finished product out
• Booking the products on and off using the Kanban System
• Monitoring and maintaining product specifications by carrying out adjustments as required
• Labelling, weighing and wrapping rolls in polythene and moving the product to storage. Maintaining product records
• Maintaining the highest possible levels of quality, efficiency and maintenance
• Complying with Health & Safety practices and Company policies
• Ensuring that work areas are kept clean, clear and hazard free
• Performing any other task that is of a reasonable request in line with the production department.

Person specification:

• Must have experience in Production Environment
• Excellent health and safety knowledge
• An organised team player with strong communication skills
• Keen eye for detail and housekeeping
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and communicate at all levels
