About the role

This is a newly created role and working as part of the People team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the delivery of an exceptional people service, placing our behaviours at the heart of everything you do.

We’re entering an exciting phase in IGD’s continued transformation, and you will play a crucial role in working with our teams to ensure our environment enables our people to be at their best.  This hands-on role is critical in ensuring we continue to create an engaging, motivating and rewarding environments for all colleagues.

The responsibilities

As the People Business Partner, you will report directly to the Head of People and be responsible for overseeing the entire employee life cycle.

This involves:

  • Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries and concerns related to people matters. This includes explaining IGD policies, providing information about benefits, and addressing workplace matters.
  • Advice and counsel on employee relations casework including disciplinary, grievance, sickness and performance issues.
  • Partner leaders and line managers on OD change management activities.
  • Embed compliance and governance across People processes such as IR35, GDPR, PSA, internal audit and ad hoc projects.
  • Assist in the implementation and execution of our new performance management approach and processes. Identify opportunities for colleague development and growth. 
  • Work with the People Administration Specialist to provide timely data and insights on key people metrics. Use this information to inform decisions and approaches.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with external partners to maximize their effectiveness. 
  • Play an active role in employee engagement: Contributing to the employee forum network, leading engagement survey activity and listening groups.
  • Working with the Head of People on our salary review and benchmarking processes for competitive and equitable compensation practices.
  • Support Head of People in developing the wider People Team capability, through knowledge transfer, workshops and coaching.
  • Regularly review our benefits packages to ensure market-leading offerings.
  • Collaborate with the People Administration Specialist to ensure payroll, benefits, and bonus payments are accurate.

  • Collaborative approaches with managers and leaders to encourage independence and open dialogues, reducing dependence
  • A deep understanding and knowledge of current employment legislation
  • Strong data management skills within excel (VLookups, pivot tables and formula writing)
  • In depth experience with cloud-based SME HRIS systems such as BambooHR
  • Proactive in making positive changes to work processes and approaches.
  • A good understand of employment law and best practices externally.
  • A growth mindset and a desire to help the team continually improve
  • A team player who exemplifies our behaviours.

The location

We are operating a hybrid approach to working with a mix of home and office-based working. We are based in a very accessible location within the M25, just 20 miles from central London.
