We are looking for an all-rounder to join a team of busy and expert theatre technicians who serve both the Manchester College Performing Arts Department and The Arden School of Theatre on a permanent, full time (35 hours per week) basis.
Both departments have a busy season of shows running through the academic year within our two on site theatre spaces as well as external venues in the city.
As a Specialist Technician (Theatre) you will support the teaching and learning objectives of planned curriculum programmes through the provision of technical support. To order, allocate and maintain all materials and equipment required by staff and students for curriculum delivery and assessment. To support teachers in the delivery of the curriculum and enhance the student experience by giving demonstrations and providing general (direct/practical) support and advice.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Level 2 English & Mathematics.
- Industry relevant qualification as applicable by specialist function.
- previous experience of working within an education setting.
- interested in lighting specialists, but the successful candidate must be willing to turn their hand to a number of different skills.
- First Aid qualification (or be prepared to work towards within first year).
