Role Overview:

The Project Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role in the financial management of building services projects, ensuring efficient cost control and contract administration and this position reports directly to the senior commercial team and requires close collaboration with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying within the building services sector and possess excellent analytical and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management and Reporting:
Prepare and maintain accurate cost reports and forecasts.
Monitor project budgets and identify any variances, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
Conduct regular financial reviews and provide updates to senior management.
Contract Administration:
Manage contract documentation and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Prepare and review subcontractor and supplier agreements.
Assess and negotiate contract variations, claims, and final accounts.
Procurement:
Develop procurement strategies and manage the tendering process.
Evaluate bids and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
Maintain effective communication with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Risk Management:
Identify and assess potential risks to the project’s financial performance.
Implement risk mitigation strategies and monitor their effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure cohesive project execution.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
Provide expert advice on commercial and contractual matters.
Value Engineering:
Conduct value engineering assessments to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to optimize project designs.
Ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented without compromising on quality.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying.
Strong knowledge of contract law and standard forms of contract.
Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
