We are currently working alongside a leading Civil Engineering and Construction company to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis in the Carlisle area.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in the successful delivery of a multi-million pound project

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects.
  • Ensuring projects are completed within the projected budget.
  • Providing financial and commercial advice to the project team.
  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Monitoring and controlling costs throughout the project life-cycle.
  •  Identifying, analysing, and developing responses to commercial risks.
  • Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and final accounts.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the construction or engineering sectors.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, tender processes, and cost control mechanisms.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable but not essential
