Pre Contracts Estimator

The Client:

Our client is a renowned construction firm, providing exceptional construction, civil engineering, and joinery services to its clientele.

The Role:

As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing tender lifecycle from receipt to submission and post-tender queries.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse tender documents to grasp project requirements and risks.
• Coordinate with internal teams for specialist support on insurance, commercial terms, and technical aspects.
• Conduct material take-offs and prepare enquiries.
• Estimate labour, plant, material, and time requirements for tender cost computation.
• Maintain detailed records and organised work schedules.
• Creating precise and detailed estimates for a variety of tenders.
• Update estimating software with current rates and purchasing information.
• Prepare tender reports and commercial documents for handover meetings.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive quotations.

Requirements:

• Previously worked as an Estimator or in a similar role.
• Possess extensive technical expertise and knowledge in construction estimating.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders while meeting deadlines.
• Computer literate, ideally with substantial experience in Causeway or equivalent estimating software.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Experience in civil engineering projects such as:

• Deep drainage works
• New road construction
• Existing road improvements
• Bridge construction
• Public realm works
• Structural concrete works
• Coastal defence works
• Flood alleviation works
