Position: Advanced Practitioner - Localities Team
Location: Wigan Council
Hourly Rate: £38.00 per hour
About the Role:
Ackerman Pierce is seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Practitioner to join the Localities Team at Wigan Council. This role is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated social worker to provide high-quality support and guidance within a dynamic and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced practice leadership and support to social workers within the Localities Team.
- Manage a complex caseload, ensuring assessments, care plans, and interventions are completed to a high standard.
- Conduct regular supervision and mentoring of social workers, including those undertaking ASYE.
- Ensure effective multi-agency collaboration to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and families.
- Lead on the development and implementation of best practice models within the team.
- Chair meetings, including case conferences, strategy meetings, and multi-agency planning meetings.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on complex cases and risk management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's performance through audits, reflective practice, and training.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with a degree in Social Work or equivalent.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Extensive experience in a children's social care setting.
- Proven ability to manage complex cases and provide advanced practice leadership.
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
