A secondary school in Wigan are looking for a temporary Religious Education teacher to join them on a supply basis from September 2024. The schools are led by a strong, forward thinking, hands-on SLT.

The school will consider ECTs as well as more experienced teachers. You will be expected to become fully involved in the school throughout your time there and attend departmental meetings and work with the team to plan and prepare engaging lessons that encourage students to stretch their knowledge of the topics and faiths you cover. As well as be available if parents evenings were to occur during your time there.

It will be a part time role and you will be expected to teach lessons to key stage 3 & 4 classes.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

• Location - St Helens
• Position - KS3/4 Religious Education Teacher
• Start date - September 2024
• Contract type - long term
• Full time
• Minimum rate of pay - £131.86
• Hours - 8:30 am - 4pm (full day)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• PGCE in Secondary Religious Studies OR equivalent route to QTS in Secondary Religious Education
• Hold a Humanities-related degree at a good classification.
• Be available immediately for initial interviews

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references
