Our Client is a dynamic and forward-thinking construction consultancy who are the most profitable within their group of companies. Their Reigate office is part of a PLC with a current 180 employees looking to expand to 250 in 3 years due to increase in workload and growth plans. Our client have a strong presence in the legal sector, particularly focusing on insurance-related work.  Our client are committed to delivering exceptional services, with 70% of their work centered around insurance projects and the remaining 30% on private practice.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Building Surveyor to join our team in Milton Keynes. The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in the residential sector and a strong background in insurance work. While chartership is not mandatory, proven expertise and leadership in the field are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed building inspections and surveys to assess condition and identify necessary repairs or improvements of the back of damage to a property or an insurance claim.
  • Manage subsequent projects from inception to completion, involving spec writing, tender process and contract administration. 
  • Prepare and evaluate reports, schedules, and maintenance plans for buildings.
  • Collaborate closely with legal teams to ensure compliance and manage insurance claims efficiently.
  • Provide expert advice on building defects, repairs, and maintenance to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc / MSc Building Surveying
  • Professional qualifications in building surveying are desirable but not essential.
  • Extensive experience in Building Surveying within the residential sector.
  • Demonstrated experience dealing with insurance work and claims.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
