Health & Safety Manager (UKAS Accredited Product Testing Facility) - Hertfordshire / north London

(CANDIDATES FOR THIS ROLE MUST BE EITHER ALREADY BASED IN THE HERTS/N LONDON AREA, OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE AT SHORT NOTICE.)

Based at the company's Test facility in the Hertfordshire / north London area, the Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring positive and proactive approach to Health, Safety and Environment throughout the business, working closely with the Test operation and also overseeing office & remote working across the company. The jobholder will be responsible for managing and monitoring Health and Safety processes and standards, supporting communication and training, as well as analysing and communicating key health & safety data and learning to underpin continuous improvement. He/she will also be responsible for supporting the Test operation through a period of change and health and safety improvements.

Key requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar kind of Health & Safety role (esp. either Test or Construction Materials related).
  • Knowledge covering a wide range of H&S legislation.
  • Undertaking Risk Assessments including COSHH and Fire.
  • Experience of planning and delivering H&S training.
  • Undertaking work-based risk assessments, H&S inspections and audits.
  • Qualified with at least NEBOSH Diploma.

The successful candidate will have sole responsibility for Health & Safety in a fast-paced UKAS accredited Test environment, and will be given every opportunity to implement and oversee new HSE initiatives to improve Health & Safety across the business. Further training & personal development opportunities will also be available for those wanting to broaden their knowledge/skillset.
