A large electrical engineering company who design, install and maintain electrical equipment for their clients are looking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter to work at their production facility in Rugby.

In the role of Mechanical Fitter, you will be disassembling, repairing and rebuilding large machinery used in the power generation sector. Experience with large machinery and HV electrical equipment would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities of Mechanical Fitter:

  • Be able to inspect, dissemble and repair large equipment
  • Read technical drawings
  • Take accurate notes and produce job reports
  • Carry out basic electrical testing
  • Comply with risk assessments and method statements to correctly manage any potential risks during maintenance and repair

Required skills of Mechanical Fitter:

  • Experience in mechanical fitting, ideally with HV electrical rotating machines
  • Ideally C&G, NVQ level 3 or ONC / HNC qualifications in mechanical engineering
  • Technical background and ability to fault find and interpret drawings
  • Ability to occasionally travel to customers sites if required
