Are you an experienced Level 2 Eddy Current Non Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician who would relish inspecting a large range of metallic parts from various industries? No two days would be the same.

Would you like the opportunity to gain certification in other methods, such as MT, PT, UT and ACFM?

NDT personnel at my client's Dudley facility are highly trained and experienced, holding personal certification from Levels 1 to 3 across the range of recognised examination schemes including SNT-TC-1-A (ASNT), ISO 9712 PCN, BS EN 4179 and NAS 410.

They test a wide range of items including Castings, Forgings, Welds, Plate, Bar and Composites. Their facility services all industrial sectors including Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Defence, Power Generation, Automotive, Nuclear, Rail, Petrochemical Medical and General Engineering.

So, a job that is not mundane and has scope for professional development.

Job requirements:

  • NDT Level 2 certification in Eddy Current Testing (ECT)
  • Have the ability to work on well-defined issues, standard and/or routine tests, without significant guidance or supervision
  • Takes Initiative and, in most cases, does not need to wait for further instruction
  • Able to decide on and implement appropriate testing methods and protocols
  • Leads and assigns the work of others when needed
  • Adapt at managing job priority and work time in accordance with targets/goals set by supervisor
  • Recognised by colleagues within the lab as possessing strong technical knowledge
  • Has a clearly demonstrated ability to apply an array of testing techniques in a rational and practical style to help examine issues and build solutions
  • Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Possess great organizational skills and personal time management
  • Have a great teamwork philosophy

Job responsibilities:

  • Conduct NDT tests and processing in the laboratory environment and on site and evaluation of results and reporting in accordance with the written procedures. A high proportion of manual handling of components may be required
  • Create written procedures for conducting Eddy Current Testing in accordance with national and international standards for the subsequent testing of castings, welds and wrought products.
  • Generation of part specific data cards in line with the written procedures
  • Calibration and control checks of equipment
  • Completion of assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned associated with the methods for which qualified
