We are currently collaborating with our client who is a specialist in the design and manufacture of award-winning products.  This is an exciting time to start working for the company, as they have recently undergone a digital transformation with big investments in new equipment and software.

Position Overview:

This is a wide-ranging role; you will champion continuous improvement in all areas of the business, ensure the highest standards of quality, safety and environmental practices, and will lead their maintenance team.

Responsibilities for QHSE & Continuous Improvement Manager:

  • Manage and develop our quality, environmental and continuous improvement strategy. Oversee management systems, ensure operational efficiency, high quality production, and compliance with external standards such as ISO.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation by developing employee engagement in quality initiatives and the effective management of improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee all product testing, risk analysis and post-market surveillance. This includes safety requirements and clinical evaluation of products in accordance with medical device regulations and CE/UKCA.
  • Develop, implement and maintain an effective and robust healthy and safety strategy and appropriate management systems to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
  • Promote a culture of health, safety and environmental responsibility across the organisation. Maintain effective communication and consultation for health and safety matters.
  • Carry out and maintain company risk assessments and undertake regular internal safety and quality audits to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee investigations and appropriate reporting of H&S incidents. Undertake root cause analysis and preventative action planning.
  • Responsible for the development and delivery of appropriate QHSE training for employees.
  • Provide leadership, direction and motivation to the maintenance team, ensuring the maintenance of machinery, equipment and site facilities are carried out effectively and efficiently.

About You:

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent) desirable but not mandatory. The opportunity to achieve this certification is available.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of leading and managing teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
  • Understanding of lean practices and methodology
  • Auditing experience
  • A background in engineering would be advantageous
