Learning Support Assistant

Location: Walsall
Duration: Full-Time, Ongoing
Salary: £95 - £105 per day

The School/Role

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive and dynamic school community in Walsall. This full-time role involves providing support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they have access to an inclusive and enriching educational experience.

Key Duties

  • Individualised Support: Provide tailored support to students with diverse learning needs, including 1:1 assistance and small group interventions.
  • Classroom Assistance: Assist teachers in delivering lessons, adapting materials, and implementing strategies to support student learning.
  • Behaviour Support: Support positive behaviour management strategies, fostering a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Personalised Learning: Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCO to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and external professionals regarding student progress and support needs.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
  • Understanding of diverse learning needs and strategies to support student learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable

  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or special educational needs
  • Experience with specific learning support programmes or interventions
  • Level 1 safeguarding certificate
  • Recent school-based references
  • Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport
  • Full DBS – on the update service or willingness to obtain a new enhanced DBS
