Production Controller

Our prestigious client has an immediate requirement for a dynamic Production Controller, initially on a 6 month contract basis. The successful candidate will be flexible, calm under pressure and have a broad knowledge of MRP and ERP systems, and the creation of BOM's and routings.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Managing production and spares demand through proactive liaison with Production, Projects, Planning, Commissioning and Sales to determine Works Order requirements
Attending and participating in daily production and project meetings
Advising upon Bill of Material and Routing creation for cost effective product MRP setup
Planning Work Order release for production loading, stores kitting and purchasing requirements
Releasing and expediting Work Orders on the shop floor from issue to completion/sign off
Tracking and providing Work Order status to meet Project, Production and Spares Plans
Managing materials shortages (with Supervisors and Team Leaders) for all Works Order
Managing Rework Work Orders, liaising with Production Engineering

General accountabilities and responsibilities:

Use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in day-to-day activities and procedures within the specified role
Maintain personal ability in, and appropriate use of, all relevant IT and other systems required to adequately perform the role.
Act ethically, with integrity and in the best interest of the business at all time
Maintain a professional and supportive relationship with team members and other departments
Carry out any other duties as detailed by the management team or authorised representative
Keep good time management to maximise productivity and effectiveness of self and others

Essential Functions:

Relevant MRP system experience
Experience working in a Project-based production build environment

Preferred Additional Skills:

Strong influencing and relationship building skills
Evidence of effective communication skills with Senior stakeholders
Able to act independently and autonomously
Understanding of Product Development processes
ERP and MRP systems knowledge and reporting writing
