JOB ROLE: CIVIL ENGINEER
LOCATION: POOLE
SALARY: £42,000 - £50,000 plus excellent benefits

Our client an award winning consultancy and they are looking to add to their team another Civil Engineer.
Qualifications required for the Civil Engineer post.
• Preferred: Incorporated Engineer (IEng) [or working towards] with the Institution of Civil Engineers
• A degree or HND in Civil Engineering
Experience required to be considered for the role of Civil Engineer
• 3+ years’ consultancy experience,
• Experience working with local authorities, developers and architects on civil engineering aspects of residential, commercial and retirement/care schemes
• Varied experience working on schemes through the planning process; from pre-app through to condition discharge,
• Civil engineering project management experience including projects combining drainage, external works and highways elements.
Role Specific Requirements
• Work within a Civil Engineering design team responsible for the design of drainage systems, highway layouts, and S278/S38 schemes,
• Work in a design office, with regular exposure to developers, architects and local authorities.
• Undertake and manage team resource for design work for;
o Drainage systems in accordance with Sewers for Adoption, building regulations and the SuDS Manual.
o On and off-site highway features, in accordance with the appropriate standards and codes e.g. Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, and Manual for Streets
• Be responsible for writing fee proposals,
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Site 3D or equivalent 3D software,
• Have knowledge of and willing to learn other engineering software,
• Reviewing of junior team members reports, design and drawing work,
• Attend client meetings and site visits,
• Co-operate with the Quality Management System (QMS) through undertaking administrative activities
Candidates would be expected to be capable of managing small to medium sized projects and work alongside dedicated technicians and structural engineering staff, as well and being able to manage their own time/resources relatively independently.
