Are you a Civil Engineering lead who is looking for a new role in a large consultancy? This opportunity is a fantastic chance to share your knowledge and lead a team.

Under the general supervision of the Directors, you will be responsible for the in-house management of the Civil Engineering elements of different projects, including the preparation of technical design from concept stages through to construction for Surface Water drainage, Foul Water drainage, Highways (Adopted and Non Adopted), Public Realm etc

The role:

  • Supervision and mentoring of Civils team
  • Development of Surface Water and Foul Water Drainage Strategies commensurate to the applicable project design stage
  • Construction of Hydraulic Models - Surface Water using Causeway Flow
  • Analysis of Foul Water Networks - Domestic Units Analysis
  • Drainage design in accordance with the most up to date standards including but not limited to; Design and Construction Guidance DCG, BS EN 753, Building Regulations -Part H and Ciria Guidance for SuDS and Modular Geocelluar Tanks
  • Preparation of Section 104, Section 106 and Section 185 agreements in accordance with the Water Industries Act
  • Preparation of design deliverables:
    • Drawings in AutoCAD
    • Hand drawn sketches - As appropriate to design stage
    • 3D Surfaces, Cut and Fill in PDS
    • Working knowledge of Civils 3D
    • Specification Documents
    • Manhole Schedules
    • 3rd Party Agreement Information - Requirements of the Statutory Authority
    • Reports - RIBA Stage Reports, Constraint Reports, FRAs and SuDS statements

What you need to succeed:

  • MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc Hons Civil or Civil and Structural Engineering
  • CEng in ICE or IStructE
  • Proven post graduate experience preferably in design consultancy for commercial/industrial projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of team leading and/or client facing roles
  • Great team-working and personable approach to clients
  • Prepared to work as part of a team or as an individual
  • Candidates must be willing to spend time on site and occasional stays away from home.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
