I'm currently working with a fast growing and forward thinking organisation based in South Manchester who are looking to appoint a new Head of Finance into their team.

You will be reporting into the Chief Financial Officer with the main purpose of this position being to take full responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of all financial data processed and to define/implement any systems and procedure improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team of seven professionals, overseeing their work, providing mentorship, and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee and manage all financial operations.
  • Prepare and analyse comprehensive financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with department heads and senior management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Optimise spending while maintaining quality standards and operational efficiency.
  • Provide financial guidance on business decisions and growth strategies.
  • Contribute to medium and long-term business planning through financial performance analysis.
  • Support business development by preparing financial information for tenders and attending prospect meetings when required.
  • Evaluate and enhance financial information systems and processes.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.


Qualifications and skills required:

  • A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a similar financial leadership role.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and commercial best practices.
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office suite.
  • Strategic thinking and planning capabilities.
  • Adaptability and willingness to support various business functions.
