W Talent Manufacturing are supporting a market leading manufacturing company based in Derbyshire in finding their new Production Planner. This business is dedicated to delivering high-quality technical products to various industries and are true experts in their field.

This role would suit someone who has experience of creating master schedules within an assembly environment. Experience of planning for a complex product is essential.

Position Overview:

The role of Production Planner, based at their facility in Derbyshire, involves working in a fast-paced, complex, assembly manufacturing environment with a large, complex product catalogue. The Production Planner will be responsible for creating and managing the master schedule to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency across the full operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed master schedules to meet demand forecasts and customer orders
  • Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times throughout the manufacturing process
  • Monitor production processes and workflows to ensure efficiency and adherence to schedules
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to ensure the availability of raw materials and finished goods
  • Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements
  • Manage inventory levels to minimise waste and reduce production costs
  • Generate regular reports on production performance, including key metrics and areas for improvement
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to resolve any production issues
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall production efficiency

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Production Planner / Master Scheduler in an assembly manufacturing environment ideal
  • Strong understanding of production planning principles and practices
  • Knowledge and appreciation of health & safety regulations
  • Proficiency in production planning software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with ERP systems
