Simply Education is seeking a dedicated and experience Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join a fantastic secondary school in Loughborough. The SENCo will be responsible for overseeing the provision of support for students with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring that they have equal access to the curriculum and opportunities to achieve their full potential. This role involves working closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement effective SEN strategies and individualized education plans (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and oversee the SEN provision within the school, ensuring compliance with legal and educational standards.
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
Work collaboratively with teachers to support differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom practices.
Provide training and guidance to staff on SEN best practices and strategies.
Liaise with parents, guardians, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students with SEN.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEN, making adjustments to support plans as needed.
Keep up-to-date records of SEN students and ensure accurate documentation is maintained.
Advocate for the needs of SEN students within the school community and promote an inclusive school culture.
Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies related to SEN.

Qualifications and Experience:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
National Award for SEN Coordination or willingness to work towards it.
Proven experience in a similar role within a secondary school setting.
Strong understanding of SEN legislation and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
