Role
Our client is looking for an Android Developer who possesses a passion for application development ensuring it fulfils customer customer requirements. This person will work with our team of software engineers to design and build the next generation of our mobile applications. Android programming works closely with other app development and technical teams.

To succeed in this role, you will be required to have a 'can-do' attitude and be receptive to learning the many aspects of our business. You will be expected to approach all opportunities with the same positive attitude. You will be encouraged to suggest amendments with a view to improving functionality processes, however, meeting customer requirements is paramount.

Working hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. 

Duties and responsibilities

• Build applications for the Android platform.
• Collaborate to define, build and deploy new features as required.
• Learn to work with external data sources and API's.
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and general reliability
• Work on bug fixing and investigating application performances.

Skills and experience

• Software development experience and Android development skills.
• Proficient in Java.
• Some experience in, or knowledge of, Android app development.
• Experience with Android SDK.
• Experience working with remote data via XML and JSON.
• Experience with third-party libraries and API's.
• Working knowledge of the general mobile architectures, trends and technologies.
• Understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.

Other desirable skills:

• Knowledge of Xamarin or Maui
• Knowledge of .net C#
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL.
