About the role

You will be based in the district’s car park office and be responsible for carrying out patrols of the car parks and streets. Part of these roles includes issuing penalty charge notices to vehicles if appropriate in accordance with relevant legislation, guidance, and good practice. Previous experience or knowledge of Traffic Regulations, legislation surrounding parking matters and principles of good enforcement is desired, but not essential as full training will be provided.

As part of the role you will be provided with professional development training in the City and Guilds Level 2 Qualification in Parking Enforcement (if you do not already hold this qualification) within your six months’ probation period.

Good general IT skills are desired, and you should have good attention to detail with the ability to keep clear and concise records. We are looking for people who are strong verbal communicators, with a customer-centred approach, who can remain calm and deal with conflict in a sensitive manner.

Please note: annual leave will be pro-rated for anyone who does not have a standard full- time pattern of 37 hours over 5 days, e.g. part-timers
