Solicitor - Planning and Enforcement

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Solicitor to join a Local Authority Planning and Enforcement Team on an initial 3-month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a remote basis.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- To provide legal advice to internal clients to have conduct of casework relating to planning, highways and environmental matters
- To have conduct of a caseload of predominantly planning and some highway matters including s106 agreements, s38 and s278 agreements and planning enforcement and planning appeal matters.
- To provide legal advice to a range of clients on planning (including BNG) and highway matters.
- To review and advise upon Development Control Committee reports.
- To work proactively and perform responsibilities to a high standard in accordance with all applicable statutory and regulatory standards, Authority policies and procedures and as directed.
- To work as effectively as possible responding to customer needs and to proactively participate as a team member within the Legal Environment team.
- Attending and advising at Development Control Committee.
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister
- Experience of working as a Solicitor within a Local Authority
- Knowledge of Highways and Planning Law
