TXM Recruit are exited to announce an opportunity as the Head of Planning, Access and Timetable Strategy with one of the largets UK Train operating companies.
Our Client is looking for an experienced and knowledgable Candidate who is able to Lead the development of timetable projects, ensuring train service requirements are delivered - as part of the National Rail Contract.

Our Client is looking for an experienced and knowledgable Candidate who is able to Lead the development of timetable projects, ensuring train service requirements are delivered - as part of the National Rail Contract.
Other Responsibilities for this role:
- Oversight of the development and delivery of timetables, rolling stock and train crew plans - ensuring quality and compliance throughout the planning process
- Development of commercial proposals for any new or additional train schemes that are required for executive approval
- Creation of business cases and identification of third-party funding mechanisms that are compatible with the businesses strategic objectives
- Working with other functions within the business and the executive team, as well and the Depart for Transport to deliver the Planning and Execution of any Deeds of Variation, to the contract
- Lead negotiator for quantum of paths, routes, stations, journey times and associated elements
- Direct the team in the development and delivery of contingency timetable plans for West Midlands Trains services - ensuring resources are allocated and plans are agreed with internal stakeholders and Network Rail
- Leading and evolving the team and function
- Previous practical experience of rail timetabling and planning
- Great leadership qualities – able to lead and motivate teams through change
- Influencing abilities – both within our clients business and also with external stakeholders
- Be an excellent communicator – able to flex your style accordingly
- An ability to analyse information to interpret and problem solve
- An ability to create and develop strategic concepts, through to realistic solutions
