A leading tier one main contractor are seeking a successful Quantity Surveyor join their team in Swindon, responsible for the robust commercial management of a variety of projects under the Wales & Western Stations and Buildings Work Contract for Control Period 7 (CP7). This framework, covering 2024 to 2029, includes maintenance and renewals of canopies, buildings, depots, platform structures, car parks, and subways. You'll play a key role in the delivery of this contract, ensuring successful project outcomes compliant with contractual terms and business plan commitments.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage all project costs in accordance with contractual agreements.

  • Oversee financial performance, ensuring profit targets and efficiency savings are met.

  • Administer change control processes and adhere to contractual timescales.

  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities effectively.

  • Deliver compliant procurement processes and manage the supply chain.

  • Handle commercial queries and advise on legal matters, including disputes.

  • Monitor project progress, conduct site visits, and maintain financial logs and forecasts.

  • Prepare and attend monthly cost review meetings, identifying variations and actions.

  • Ensure compliance with the company's and clients' assurance processes and legislative requirements.

  • Work with project teams, clients, and suppliers, fostering a culture of professionalism and collaboration.

Person Specification: 

  • Proven success in a Quantity Surveying role.

  • Experience in a civil engineering environment.

  • NEC Contracts experience.

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Professional membership with RICS or CICES (desirable).
