Veeam Consultant – Initial 3 Month Contract – Outside IR35 – Hampshire

Chapman Tate Associates is working with a leading provider of IT solutions who are seeking a skilled Veeam Consultant with security clearance on a specific project. The successful candidate will play a critical role in troubleshooting and resolving issues with Veeam installations, conducting thorough reviews, and implementing best practices to ensure optimal performance and reliability for our clients data centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initial Fire Fighting: Respond to and resolve urgent issues where a customer has installed Veeam and is experiencing significant problems. Provide immediate support to stabilise the environment.
  • Review and Assessment: Conduct a comprehensive review of existing Veeam setup. Identify configuration issues, performance bottlenecks, and potential points of failure.
  • Best Practices Implementation: Develop and implement best practice configurations and processes for Veeam installations. Ensure that the customer's environment is optimized for performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Customer Engagement: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their specific needs and challenges. Provide clear recommendations and regular updates on progress.
  • Documentation: Create detailed documentation of the current setup, issues identified, solutions implemented, and best practice guidelines.
  • Training: Provide training and support to client IT teams to ensure they can effectively manage and maintain their Veeam environments post-consultation.

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Veeam Consultant or similar role with extensive hands-on experience in deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Veeam solutions.
  • Hold active SC clearance.
  • Strong understanding of data protection, backup, and disaster recovery principles.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) are highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel to client site as required.
