Milestone Education are currently looking to recruit enthusiastic and experienced teaching assistants to join our team!

About our School:

Our partnered school is a small independent school that caters to children aged 11-19. Their mission is to provide a safe, calm and progressive learning environment for students who struggle in large group settings and are unable to access mainstream education. They specialise in supporting children and young people with complex anxiety associated with Autism and/or early trauma. With high staff-pupil ratios, students receive individualised attention within a purposeful and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:

As a teaching assistant you will play a crucial role in providing high quality support to students. Your responsibilities will include:

• Support students learning within a range of classroom settings or be the designated 1:1 support worker for a pupil with communication and interaction needs.
• Working with students with complex needs: monitor and provide for their general care, safety and welfare.
• Establish productive working relationships with students, acting as a role model, demonstrating positive values, attitudes and behaviour.
• Contribute to student’s IEP’s, reviewing and updating progress, attending review meetings if appropriate.
• Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom, encourage them to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage in activities.
• Assist with behaviour management strategies and techniques to manage behaviour constructively and contribute to a purposeful learning environment.

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS (Or be willing to complete one)
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent
• Personal or work experience relevant to supporting young people with additional needs.
• Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students learning and development.

Additional Details:

Hours: This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Salary: Competitive, based on the M1 - M6 teaching scale, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Location: Coventry, Warwickshire
