White Label are now recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a company based in the South Manchester area. The company have had a fantastic year and are now looking to strengthen their engineering department with a Design Engineer.  

The company is a small manufacturing business supplying into the multiple industries. They are part of a large group and so benefit from the financial backing of a multinational business, but with a smaller company culture they have a great team.  The Design Engineer will be working in a very busy design office, producing drawings and bills of materials for the company’s products.

The client is looking for a Design Engineer, who will work with a team of Inventor/ Autocad Design Engineers and drafters.

The Design Engineer will be responsible for the following:

Concept Design

Creating 2D manufacturing drawings from 3D models

Detailing of drawings, dimensions etc

Creating bills of materials

Liaise with production staff

Mechanical design

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years in a Design Engineering role

AutoCAD experience

Knowledge of Inventor

Knowledge of Vault beneficial

Mainly thin gauge sheet metal but also welded fabrications

Work as part of a small dynamic team

Package

£30-40k (depending on experience

5% contributory pension scheme,

life insurance,

25 days holidays

37.5 hour working week

The client is looking for candidates with 3 years experience in mechanical design. The ideal candidate will have exposure to sheet metal design. The company is ideally looking for Autodesk Inventor 3D along with strong skills in Microsoft and excel.
