The Role:

So, what will you be doing as a Manufacturing Engineer?

  • Establishing, supporting, and governing continuous improvement (CI) reviews to ensure robustness and sustainability.
  • Facilitating and executing CI plans to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Supporting root cause analysis for externally supplied detail products
  • Reducing defective issues in the stores area, including rework and non-conformances, using 8D/A3 methodology.
  • Implementing process controls and capability based on critical stores and logistics processes, driven by internal and external customers.
  • Facilitation of Improvement activities within the manufacturing & Logistics' facility
  • Technical expertise on Lean tool sets and change management
  • Managing improvements into the business

What are we looking for in our next Manufacturing Engineer?

A formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 and a formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject, OR a BEng in a relevant engineering or science degree.

  • Strong background in manufacturing and warehousing (preferred, but not essential).
  • Awareness of supply chain goods receiving practices (preferable not essential)
  • Understanding of MRP & Just in Time principals (preferably in a stores environment)
  • Working in or supporting operations in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience in the use & understanding of Lean manufacturing & Six sigma methodologies
  • Proficiency in continuous improvement (CI) and quality tools.
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing systems tools, techniques, and Minitab software.
  • A solid understanding of manufacturing, logistical, and engineering processes.
