Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges? We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our dynamic team as a Pastoral Lead at our SEN School in Barnsley.

Key Responsibilities:
As our Pastoral Lead, you will play a crucial role in providing a supportive and nurturing environment for students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing the pastoral team to ensure a cohesive and effective support system.
  • Utilising your background in mental health to provide specialised assistance to students with complex needs.
  • Implementing proactive behavioral strategies to create a positive learning environment.
  • Demonstrating expertise in de-escalation strategies to address challenging situations effectively.
  • Collaborating with other staff members to develop and maintain a holistic approach to student well-being.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience working in an SEMH environment.
  • A background in mental health, equipped to understand and address complex needs.
  • Confidence and leadership skills to lead a dedicated pastoral team.
  • Proven ability to implement effective behavioral and de-escalation strategies.
