Construction Bookkeeper

£30,000 to £35,000 pro rata
My client is an electrical building services company that has been established for over 20 years. They are looking for a financial controller on a permanent basis.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Update computerised accounting records for the business, ensuring accuracy
- Preparation and submission of monthly VAT returns
- WIP Reporting and sales accounting information
- Oversee CIS process ensuring all contractors are processed correctly
- Provide Management with updates concerning financial performance
- Oversee HMRC statutory reporting and payments
- Reconciliation of supplier ledgers
- Oversee payroll process including management of employee time sheets
- Assist with administration, correspondence and queries both internally and externally
To be considered for this role, you will:
- Be competent in the use of Sage and Excel, with strong IT skills
- An educational background in Finance or accounting (AAT preferred)
- Knowledge of CIS and Payroll legislation
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with accuracy and focus
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
- Strong organisation and time management skills
