Working pattern
Full time - 37.5 hr contract
Monday-Friday (Flexibility required upon requirements of the role)

The role of the Positive Behaviour Facilitator
As a Positive Behaviour Support Facilitator, you would be responsible for working autonomously and managing your own case load working directly with teams to support individuals who may have a Learning Disability, Mental Health Condition, Autism, and offending behaviours. The service is a complex set up/step down service and the role involves working proactively growing the division within your locality with additional services, with a focus upon improving the quality of life for the individual(s) and reduce restrictive practices in line with the restraint reduction network. As a Facilitator your role would be:
- Assisting with the development, organisation, and delivery of a Positive Behaviour Support Service so that individuals who display challenging behaviour develop the skills to enjoy the best quality of life possible.
- Supporting in the assessment process with the Service Manager for all new people who will be accessing the service.
- Provide specialist consultation and guidance for individuals with learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and/or mental health needs who require behavioural support.
- Ensure that the transition of people moving into 1st Enable services is well led and co-ordinated effectively.
- Work intensively with individuals who may suffer a decline in their mental well-being whilst collaborating and effective communication with families and key stake holders to ensure co-production of strategies.
- Develop function based Positive Behaviour Support plans for supported people on you allocated case load. Ensuring plans are outcome focused and emphasise skill building and achievements.
- Provide evidence-based recommendations for staff working within services in behaviour support.
- Ensure that your role is leading by example and directly working with the people we support and the staff teams, providing wrap around support.
- Ensure staff teams receive high quality person specific training to deliver behavioural support.
- Can work autonomously and as part of a wider team to develop all required plans relating to individual’s behaviour support. This will include the ability to carry out functional behaviour assessments, develop Positive Behaviour Support Plans and associated risk assessments.
- To contribute to the on-call service on a rotational basis within the agreed locality.
Experience and Skills
A Formal qualification around Applied Behaviour Analysis (Consideration will be given to other qualifications of a similar level and those who hold relevant QCF qualifications)
Minimum of 2 years’ experience or more in a similar role or environment and with complex care framework experience.
Experience of assessing, and providing support to, people with learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Conditions; mental health problems, neurological disorders, and offending behaviours.
Experience in the development and delivery of training programs designed for staff that support people with ASC, LD, MH and behaviours that may pose challenges to others.
Experience using clinical behavioural observational assessment measures such as Functional Analysis Assessments, ABC charts, learning logs and active observations.
Desirable requirement
Higher education qualification in the field of Learning disabilities / Health and Social Care
Higher Education qualification in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Psychology
