Reliability Engineer – Staff – Process Manufacturing – Good Salary + Benefits + Progression Opportunity – Flintshire

Our client are a leading process manufacturing company, they are looking for a Reliability Engineer on a staff basis. Reporting to the General Manager, the Reliability Engineer will be interacting with all site operations. Training and development will be provided if required.

Duties:

  • Research and analyse design proposals and specifications to evaluate feasibility, cost and maintenance requirements.
  • Prepare specifications for the purchase of materials and equipment for engineering work. Estimate costs and submit proposals for engineering work.
  • Investigate and test current suppliers and competitor products.
  • Oversee maintenance efforts to ensure that work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Assist in developing capital project proposals for new equipment and major maintenance.
  • Design, implement, improve and maintain equipment for industrial and domestic purposes.
  • Analyse and interpret test information to resolve problems.
  • Provide technical assistance & resolution when engineering problems are encountered before, during and after installation making recommendations to eliminate the problems.
  • Collaborate with other personnel to identify, define and solve problems.
  • Carry out feasibility studies on the design, operation and performance of equipment.
  • Study other industrial processes to determine where and how the application of equipment can be made.
  • Write commissioning procedures for new installations.
  • Direct and coordinate construction, installation and maintenance, documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with relevant legislation through CMMS including proof testing of safety related systems, inspection of equipment in hazardous areas and the non-destructive testing of storage tanks and pipe work.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Recognised time served apprenticeship or higher qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (electrical, mechanical and P&ID).
  • Knowledge of handling techniques for raw materials, intermediates and finished products. Knowledge of chemical production processes and quality control.
  • Fault finding and diagnostic skills on a wide range of plant and equipment.
  • Knowledge of relevant and demonstrable track record in the application of process industry legislation. Experience of following procedures to promote effective site operations for the protection people and property.
  • Contractor selection and engagement.
  • Previous experience in either chemicals, petrochemical, food processing, primary pharmaceutical, power generation, COMAH or similar regulated environment would be preferred.
