English Teacher - Andover

Academics are currently seeking a qualified, experienced English teacher to join a residential SEN school in Andover.
The school caters for young people aged 11-19 years who have an Autism diagnosis and/or have strong emotional/behaviour issues, typically high functioning Autism.

This specialist school are looking for someone who is available from September until the Christmas holidays (with the potential to roll over until Easter). This is a full-time, term-time teaching role.

To be considered for this role you will need to be confident in supporting young people with other associated needs such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, secondary mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression and its associated behaviours. All children in the school also have an EHCP - Education Health Care Plan or a Statement of Special Educational Needs.

English Teacher - Andover

Students have access to a broad and balanced curriculum which extends throughout the day. A significant part of the learning process is catered for after school, structured activities. We aim to teach self-management through the provision of a range of strategies that allow students to develop their strengths and manage their difficulties successfully.

Due to the needs of the pupils the class sizes are smaller than a mainstream school and support staff are on hand. This position is suited to someone who has experience of working in a similar setting or is keen to work in a SEN environment with pupils with special educational needs.

You'll need:
* An enhanced DBS check on the update service or be willing to complete one via Academics
* Have UK recognised QTS
* Be able to show recent experience working in a UK school (ideally SEN)
* To be passionate and empathetic
