Work for a Government agency as a Commercial Policy and Compliance Officer

Must have procurement experience & experience of working in UK public sector - We need someone who can advise on both internal governance and procurement regulations.

Ensure compliance with Corporation commercial governance and public contracts regulations through provision of robust procurement compliance advice. Deliver the Corporation's implementation plan for the new Procurement Act (2023). Lead on provision of compliance data and reporting, completion of FOIs and management of the corporate waiver and exemption processes.

What you will be doing

  • Responsibility for the creation, development and maintenance of procurement policy, guidelines and compliance activities, including benchmarking and implementation of best practice. To author user documentation, manuals, guidance notes, etc. in consultation with the Commercial Services leadership team and user department representatives.
  • Responsibility for ensuring Commercial Services and wider organisational compliance with the Corporation's Procurement Code and UK Public Contract Regulations, guidelines and agreed procurement policies, including measuring, analysing, validating and reporting on departmental compliance to procurement policy and processes.
  • Responsibility for the development and maintenance of the organisations Procurement Code and associated guidelines; leading on legal and policy requirements; reviewing committee reports where applicable; advising on procurement ethics and conflicts of interest.
  • Responsibility for the development of a robust assurance framework maximising use of data and intelligence in order to empower, and hold to account, service departments and institutions to independently manage tactical procurement and contract management.
