Elevation Recruitment Group are currently retained in the search for a Plant Director. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in heavy engineering / process manufacturing.  My client is renowned for the delivery of high-quality products and innovative solutions to their clients.

With a turnover of £30 million and a site with 100 skilled professionals, they are committed to excellence in every aspect of operations.  This Plant Director will need to be hands on, driven and experienced enough to lead the site operations and drive their business to new heights.

As the Plant Director, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of this manufacturing site. You will oversee all aspects of plant operations, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, and driving financial performance. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and extensive experience in site management and P&L responsibility within the heavy engineering or process manufacturing sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership to the plant team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence. Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization.
  • Oversee daily plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics. Ensure adherence to production schedules and optimize resource utilization.
  • Manage the plant’s P&L, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting. Identify and implement strategies to improve profitability and achieve financial targets.
  • Ensure the plant operates in compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards. Promote a safe working environment and lead initiatives to improve workplace safety.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Implement lean manufacturing principles and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders. Ensure customer requirements are met and exceeded in terms of quality, delivery, and service.

Elevation Recruitment Group are keen to speak with people that have the following skills & experience:

  • Demonstrable experience (5+ years) in a senior leadership role within heavy engineering or process manufacturing, with a focus on site management and P&L responsibility.
  • Strong financial acumen with a track record of managing budgets and delivering financial results.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, drive change, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Degree / Masters qualification desired but not essential.
