SCADA Engineer

Our client, a leader in the automation sector, is currently seeking a SCADA Engineer to join their team specialising in life science and manufacturing automation. This permanent role requires a senior Control Systems Engineer experienced in SCADA, HMI, and PLC design, working within an ISO 9001 quality environment and meeting industry expectations for documentation and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and reviewing SCADA and HMI system documentation, design, build, and test to the required standard
- Planning and organising SCADA and HMI development
- Producing SCADA and HMI controls design and documentation within agreed budgets
- Providing project SCADA and HMI technical support
- Ownership and control of SCADA and HMI standards and future development
The role supports tour Projects group globally, ensuring compliance with quality and documentation expectations.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in control system software design
- Proficiency in controls systems, SCADA, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and HMI
- Understanding of software scripting (e.g., C Script, VBA, C#)
- Knowledge of virtualisation environments (e.g., ESXi, Hyper-V)
- Understanding of network architectures
- Experience with GE iFix SCADA development (other SCADA systems also advantageous), VBA scripting, Microsoft SQL, Siemens Step 7 or TIA portal, Siemens WinCC flexible or TIA portal, and Rockwell PLC and HMI development
- Relevant HNC/D qualification
- Highly motivated with excellent communication and organisation skills
- Creative approach to problem-solving and ability to work well under pressure
- Experience in commissioning and fault-finding on industrial equipment
- Experience in automation project delivery across the entire project life cycle
