£65,000 - £80,000/annum + car + healthcare + pension

A contractor who specialise in new build, fit out and refurbishment works, and are equally adept working in both live and non-live environments, across many sectors including retail and hospitality are seeking a confident and experienced Contracts Manager.

The role is based throughout central Scotland on projects ranging from £2m - £15m in value.

With a strong order book ahead of them and plans to expand further in Scotland this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and experienced individual.

Job Description:

As a Contracts Manager for  Build and Refurbishment Projects, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the contractual aspects of the projects. You will ensure that all contracts are executed efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all contractual aspects of refurbishment projects from inception to completion.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful project delivery.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring all terms and conditions are met.
  • Monitor project progress and handle any issues or disputes that arise.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality of work.
  • Provide detailed reports and updates to senior management.
  • Manage project budgets and financial reporting.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or in a similar role, preferably within the design and build/ refurbishment or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and construction contracts.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Desirable:

  • Professional certification (e.g., RICS, MCIOB) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of sustainable building practices and materials.
