We are delighted to be working on behalf of a leading care provider to recruit an experienced Deputy Manager for a 6 bed specialist residential care home in Basingstoke. About the Role: Our client is dedicated to creating a homely and safe environment that meets individual needs and promotes community integration. They are committed to highest standards of care for the individuals they support. The Deputy Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Registered Manager and ensuring the smooth operation of their care services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deputise in the Manager's absence and support in maintaining the service
- Provide supervision and guidance to staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist in recruiting, inducting, supervising, supporting, and developing staff.
- Conduct staff appraisals and coordinate training programs.
- Ensure effective communication within the team through regular meetings and reports.
- Monitor service compliance with the Mental Health Act and Care Quality Commission standards.
- Support the Manager in assessing potential service users and reviewing care plans.
- Ensure service users receive the statement of purpose and service user guide.
- Maintain premises and equipment to high standards and ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Fire Regulations.
- Foster strong relationships with parents, relatives, senior management, social services, health authorities, and other external agencies.
- Promote a positive image of the company at all times.
Person Specification:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in mental health and/or learning disability care
- 1 year experience in supervision and team management.
- Competent in managing service budgets and record keeping.
- Management qualification
- Effective communicator with strong leadership qualities.
- Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and Equal Opportunities.
- Physically able and willing to participate in physical activities.
- Available to work weekends and unsociable hours.
