We are currently looking for an experienced Section Engineer with surfacing and asphalt expertise to join our team in West London. This role requires working night shifts to oversee and manage key sections of our ongoing projects.

Role Overview: The Section Engineer will be responsible for managing specific sections of our surfacing and asphalt projects. This includes overseeing construction activities, ensuring quality and safety standards, and coordinating with various teams during night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Section Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned sections, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Supervision: Provide leadership and guidance to site teams, including engineers, foremen, and operatives.
  • Technical Oversight: Ensure all surfacing and asphalt works are carried out according to engineering specifications, standards, and best practices.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and enforce quality control measures, conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
  • Coordination: Liaise with site managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of progress, site activities, and compliance, including daily logs and reports.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the construction process.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience as a Section Engineer, with a focus on surfacing and asphalt works.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using setting out equipment and relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and quality control processes in surfacing and asphalt.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively, especially in a night shift environment.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across different teams.
  • Certifications: Valid CSCS card and relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., HNC, HND, or degree in Civil Engineering or related field).
