Avenue are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a leading manufacturing organisation based in Glenrothes
The Role
Provide mechanical and electrical maintenance expertise and effective, flexible support across the plant. To deputise for the shift lead hand when required.
Main Duties

  • To carry out the most appropriate and effective repairs to mechanical, electrical and electronic plant in line with engineering standards and legislative requirements.
  • To support the Planned Preventative Maintenance system, ensuring actions are completed in line with requirements.
  • Modification and improvement of machinery and the plant.
  • Contribute to engineering drawings and documentation, ensuring they are kept up to date and in compliance with appropriate standards and legislation.
  • To support process improvements and be receptive to change to develop working practices within the Engineering/Maintenance team.
  • Supervision of trainees and contractors.
  • To maintain a high standard of housekeeping within all working areas.
  • Carry out shift hand-overs as appropriate and act as deputy for lead hand when not available.


The Candidate

  • This position requires the job holder to possess single bias qualifications (mechanical or electrical) with relevant experience in the other discipline
  • Minimum academic qualification of time served apprenticeship (mechanical or electrical), ONC, HNC preferred.
  • Experience in 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is desirable
  • Proficient in the use of computer-based systems, specifically in recording fault information, task times and parts usage.
  • Ability to use fault finding and diagnostic techniques.
  • Ability to read and amend technical drawings as required.
  • Understanding and experience of routine 'preventative' maintenance.
  • Ability to demonstrate a 'high' level of health, safety and environmental culture.
  • A high level of experience working with Permits to Work, risk assessments and safe working procedures
  • Demonstrated experience of working alone and in a team.
  • Operating in a fast-paced environment to challenging deadlines.
  • Excellent problem solver.
  • Can demonstrate the ability to prioritise and multitask whilst retaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated and flexible.

Hours of work are based on a rotating 12 hour shift pattern Dayshift/Nightshift hours 7am - 7pm and 7pm - 7am. The successful candidate will receive a highly competitive salary
