Job Title: SEN Tribunals and Mediation Officer
Location: Liverpool (Hybrid)
Hours: 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday
Rate: £30-£40 per hour
Requirements: Basic DBS required, relevant qualifications in education or law, and experience in handling SEN tribunals and mediation

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced SEN Tribunals and Mediation Officer to join our team. In this critical role, you will manage and represent cases involving SEN tribunals and mediation processes, ensuring fair and just outcomes for children with SEN. Your expertise in negotiation and legal procedures will be essential in resolving disputes and advocating for the rights of children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent and manage cases at SEN tribunals, ensuring comprehensive preparation and presentation.
  • Facilitate mediation sessions between families, schools, and local authorities to resolve disputes amicably.
  • Provide expert advice and support to families navigating the SEN tribunal and mediation processes.
  • Collaborate with legal teams, educational psychologists, and other professionals to gather evidence and build strong cases.
  • Maintain detailed records of tribunal and mediation cases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal standards.
  • Stay updated on changes in SEN legislation and tribunal procedures to ensure best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in education or law (e.g., degree in Law, Special Education, or related field).
  • Experience in handling SEN tribunals and mediation.
  • Strong understanding of SEN legislation and legal procedures.
  • Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and communication skills.
  • Basic DBS required.
