We have an exciting new opportunity for a highly motivated Assistant Supply Chain Manager within our London & East construction business. With offices in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, and Chelmsford (Essex), we deliver projects across multiple sectors within north London, the northern home counties and East Anglia. This will be a hybrid role.

You will work with our Supply Chain Manager and our teams across pre-construction, delivery and aftercare to assist in the development and management of our supply chain partners, ensuring they meet our current and future business needs. You will be commercially astute with the ability to engage and influence at all levels, you must be passionate to drive value and quality of product.

You may have worked in a similar role, but not necessarily within the construction industry. Alternatively you may already work in a different role within construction, but have a passion to transfer your skills and knowledge into a supply chain based role. Or you may be a recent graduate having studied supply chain management, business management construction management (or similar) seeking to embark on your career within supply chain management.

If you have strong negotiation and influencing skills, an operational drive and the ability to adapt to change, then this could be the right role for you.

Some of the main duties and responsibilities will include:

* Supporting the Supply Chain Manager to ensure we have a supply chain that can meet the demands and needs of our business. * Building relationships with our partners to understand capability and capacity.

* Analysing cost of error and proposing changes in relation to supply chain.

* Driving consistency in approach across our supply chain partners to ensure high standards are understood and met on every project.

* Supporting the Supply Chain Manager with delivering regular key business updates to our supply chain.

* Managing performance feedback from our teams in relation to our supply chain and using this to influence decision making.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Essential

* Minimum BTEC or Level 3 equivalent

* Experience in a supply chain management / procurement role

* Knowledge of Public Contract Regulations 2015 and other relevant legislation and policy in relation to public procurement

Desirable

* Degree / CIPs

* Construction supply chain experience
