Position : Car Sales consultant 

We are seeking a new and used Car Sales consultant, to join our main dealer Sales team in Shrewsbury. Working as part of an experienced team and reporting to the Sales Manager, you will put your sales expertise to use in a busy customer-facing environment.

What do we expect from a Car Sales Consultant?

You will meet with customers that make their enquiries face to face, over the phone, or via the internet. You will manage these enquiries with courtesy and professionalism, resulting in vehicle, finance and insurance product sales. Customer focus is 100% mandatory

On a day to day basis a car sales consultant will:

  • Make regular contact with new and existing customers
  • Offer advice and guidance to our existing finance customers as they reach the end of their current contracts. Making appointments for them to visit you on site.
  • Positively respond to all queries quickly, efficiently and professionally.
  • Remain pro-active when incoming enquiries become quiet.
  • Guide customers through New and Used car purchases and suitable products
  • Maximising the upsell opportunities from finance insurance products and accessories.
  • Learn and Maintain an great knowledge of the range of the vehicles we sell.
  • Completing regular training sessions online. onsite and at training centres.
  • Offer a fully compliant process, adhering to all industry regulations relating to the sale of vehicles, finance and insurance.

Experience are we looking for in a sales consultant?

We believe that all experience, knowledge and opinions are vital to our progression and continued growth and improvement. We welcome applications from experienced Car Sales Executives and also from applicants with at least Two years of retail experience in a customer facing environment.

The key attributes we look for are:

  • Experience in a Franchised Main Dealership is an advantage, but is not essential as full training will be provided.
  • At least Two years of experience in a retail sales environment.
  • You will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and capable of maintaining a positive attitude.
  • You should be both articulate and numerate.
  • You should take pride in the way that you present yourself to customers.
  • Influencing skills, plus an ability and confidence to convert enquiries in to sales.

What we can offer you.

Your working Life with us made simple, as our state-of-the-art showroom is based on the same site as our workshops, approved body-shop, Accounts and Parts departments, and Valeting bays. We have ample parking spaces on site for all department customers.

Your 5-day working week is Monday to Saturday, with a day off during the week. You will also be asked to work 1 in 3 Sundays. You can expect to achieve an O.T.E of around £60,000 each year, based on a £20,000 basic salary (dependant on experience) and a simple but achievable commission and bonus structure. But, your earnings are uncapped, so the sky is the limit! In addition to a generous and paid holiday allowance, you will receive a Brand New Company Car  included for private use. Most importantly, you we be welcomed in to a team that will appreciate your skills and encourage you to succeed.
