Role Overview:

Our client, a respected provider of children’s residential care services, is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Support Worker / Team Leader to join their team at a newly refurbished 2-EBD children's home in Manchester. This Ofsted-regulated home is dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Provide strong leadership and guidance to support workers, ensuring high standards of care and support are consistently delivered.
  • Direct Care: Engage directly with children, offering therapeutic support and fostering a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate and supervise daily activities, ensuring all team members are aligned with care plans and therapeutic strategies.
  • Compliance: Ensure all practices comply with Ofsted regulations and standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Training: Assist in the training and development of support staff, promoting continuous professional development.

Shift Pattern:

  • Rota: 2 on, 3 off
  • Shift Hours: From 08:00 am on the first day, including a sleep-in, until 23:00 on the following day

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a senior or team leader role within a children’s residential care setting, particularly with EBD.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Ofsted regulations and standards for children’s homes.
  • Therapeutic Skills: Experience in implementing and managing therapeutic care practices.
  • Commitment: A genuine passion for improving the lives of children with EBD.
